Omaha Bound

What a complete weekend for the Noles.  A rain delayed weekend, but still a complete one.

Friday night, the Noles too advantage of Mark Appel’s wildness, and the inability of the rest of the Stanford staff to find the strike zone, to stomp the Cardinal 17-1.

A rainout Saturday did not dampen the momentum for the Noles.  They punched their ticket to Omaha Sunday night with an 18-7 drubbing of the Cardinal.  The game saw something happen twice that rarely happens once when John Holland twice reached first on catcher’s interference (the only play in which a batter can reach first on an error and not be charged with a plate appearance).

Timely hitting and solid pitching have been a hallmark of the 2012 Seminole Baseball team.  James Ramsey and Jayce Boyd have led the charge offensively, but you cannot look past what Seth Miller did for all three of his home runs this year…they have all been grand slams.  Brandon Leibrandt, the first freshman to start Opening Day, has been stellar all season on the mound.

The Noles will continue their pursuit for that elusive first championship for the program and for Eleven (Coach Martin).

Go Noles!
