Hard To Do

Seattle pitcher Felix Hernandez tossed a perfect game against the Rays yesterday.  It was the 23rd perfect game in MLB history.  So clearly, throwing a perfect game is hard to do.  But how about some of the other feats achieved yesterday with the perfect game (not including Hernandez being able to join the “Perfect Game Club” and hang out with Kate Upton):

*It was the 3rd perfect game this season, the most of any season in history.
*It was the 6th no-hitter of the season.
*It was the 3rd no-hitter thrown at Safeco Field this season.
*It was the 2nd perfect game thrown at Safeco Field this season.
*It was the 4th time since 2009 that the Rays have been no-hit.
*It was the 3rd time since 2009 that the Rays have been on the losing end of a perect game.  Only the Dodgers have accomplished that, and they have been around for over 100 years, and one of the perfect games thrown against them was in the World Series.
*Since 2009, no other team, other than the Rays, has been no-hit more than once.

Baseball truly is in a league of its own.
